Ana Ortiz Shares Ghost Story

Devious Maids star Ana Ortiz had a blood-curdling run-in with a supernatural being during her early days as an actress in Los Angeles. She moved into a room in a friend’s two-story home, only to discover that her room was unnaturally chilly year round, no matter the outside temperature.

One afternoon, the young star was in her room, putting on makeup and going over lines when she suddenly felt a “crisp” sense of cold. “Something in here isn’t right,” she recalled.

Suddenly, without warning, the boombox in her room turned on. “I hear music playing,” she said. “I didn’t have anything in my room but this old boombox… from the late ’80s.” The spookiest part? There were no batteries installed…. and no cord.

Two months later, she returned home from a long day of auditions to discover an empty house. She slowly walked up the stairs. As she approached the top of the steps, she felt a blast of cold air along her backside. “It was like getting cold water thrown on you,” Ortiz remembers. “I screamed.” Suddenly, two young boys rushed by her — one chasing the other. They vanished just as suddenly as they appeared.

Later, Ortiz and her roommate discovered from a neighbor that a pair of brothers lived in the home in the ’50s. The two had been in a months-long battle over the same girl…. and the feud ended with them chasing each other through the home and stabbed each other to death in the room where Ortiz now slept.

How creepy is this? Have you ever had any scary ghost or paranormal experiences? Happy Halloween!

Mariana Klaveno’s ‘Stalker’ Ordered for Full Season

Have you been watching Mariana Klaveno’s CBS Series Stalker? Now that “Devious Maids” is currently on hiatus, many of the show’s stars have been guest-starrring and starring on other shows. Yes, we miss seeing Mariana causing trouble as drama queen Peri, but we assure you that you will love her new show.

Plus, it’s doing so well that it’s gotten a full season order! You can watch the show on Wednesday at 10/9c on CBS!

Stalker: If there’s a surprise in the lineup, it’s the pickup of Stalker, as its performance has been somewhat modest and the show was ripped by critics. The violent crime drama has averaged 9.5 million viewers, and a 2.1 in adults 18-49, yet clearly makes for a good thematic companion for Criminal Minds.

Marc Cherry & Sabrina Wind to Produce “The Phantom of the Opera” TV Series for ABC

ABC has ordered a pilot script for the Desperate Housewives mastermind’s modern reimagining of Gaston Leroux’s gothic novel The Phantom of the Opera, one that will be set “in the sexy and cutthroat world of the modern-day music business.”

The potential series will not be a musical, but the one-hour scripted drama will contain musical elements (a la the network’s country-music sudser Nashville), according to ABC reps.

The Phantom of the Opera pilot script will be written by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner (Broadway’s First Date), with Cherry and partner Sabrina Wind serving as Executive Producers on the project.

Earlier this month, Cherry scored a pilot script deal for Cheerleader Death Squad at The CW.
